Editor reading from novel at arts festival

You’ll be U Fest able to catch me reading from my books at the U-Fest arts festival in Rice Lake, Wis., on Friday, Aug. 14, and Saturday, Aug. 15. The event, which features live music, an arts and crafts fair, and a writer-related events, will be held on the UW-Barron County campus.

I’ll read from my novel Windmill Friday night at the Stories Under the Stars event held outdoors on the main stage. The event runs from 8 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, I’ll read again from Windmill on the main stage between 12:30 to 1 p.m. 

Earlier that day, I am offering a presentation on “How to Self-Publish a Book” at the Student Center. The session runs from 8:30 to 9:15 p.m.

In addition, you’ll be able to purchase my books – which include a hiking guide to Barron County – at the Writers Row on the north side of the gym. I’ll be available to sign any purchases through the day.

You’ll be Site-logoable to meet west-central Wisconsin authors – including yours truly – at the Author Meet & Mingle on Tuesday, May 12, at the LE Phillips Memorial Library in downtown Eau Claire, Wis.

The event, cohosted by the Friends of the Library and the Wisconsin Historical Society, is part of the Wisconsin History Tour. Prior to the event, a Writers Forum, featuring Michael Perry, Jerry Apps, and John Hildebrand, will be held across the street at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center (The State Theater) beginning at 10 a.m. Other events are planned following the Author Meet & Mingle.

Books from Wisconsin authors will be available for sale at the Author Meet & Mingle, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to The Friends of the Library. The Author Meet & Mingle runs from noon to 1 p.m.

Editor presenting at NW Wisconsin Book Festival

Book lovers NW Wisconsin Writers Festival can catch me and nearly two dozen other regional writers at the NW Wisconsin Writers Festival on Saturday, May 10. The festival at the UW-Barron County campus in Rice Lake, Wis., features: tables for meeting authors and perusing their books; readings by local authors; workshop sessions about writing; and a keynote address.

I’ll read from my novel Windmill (10-11 a.m., Commons), am a presenter in a breakout session about the business of writing (1-1:45 p.m., Ritz 202), and will man my author’s table most of the rest of the time (9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Commons).

The festival coincides with the release in paperback of my book, Hittin’ the Trail: Day Hiking Barron County, Wisconsin. I’ll have plenty of copies of the title and my other books on hand.
